The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I came to Penn State to get my Ph.D. in Speech Communication so that I could teach at the university level. I taught overseas for the University of Maryland and for University of Southern California on American military installations across Europe and Asia. Favorite assignments were Berlin, Tokyo, and the Philippines. Then became Training Director of the Defense Team for Booz-Allen-Hamilton in McClain, VA. Woke up one morning wanting to return to my home state of Texas and teach at the junior college level to work more directly with students. Have been at Wharton County Junior College for seven years - small town in South Texas - grown to three campuses. I love to tell my students how a small town girl from East Texas learned so much from Prof. Carroll Arnold, Tom Benson, and others at Penn State. Bill Coleman photographs of the Nittany Lion and Mt. Nittany are in the place of honor in my office. I support the Alumni Assoc. and am Penn State Proud!
